Fall in the South

I love the fall, the gradual crisping of the air, being able to wear sweaters again, the leaves changing, the smells, the muted sounds in the air.   Not having to have the air conditioning going 24/7 so that you at least have the illusion of being cool.

We may not have the frosts turning our leaves all the wonderful colors that people north of us experience, but our leaves do turn.  They react to the shorter daylight hours, the cooler nights, the changes in precipitation.  And the leaves down here are pretty as well.

Here are a few pictures I've been taking over the past few weeks.
Now, doesn't that make you want to get your sweater out and go put on a pot of soup, then sit back with a nice cup of tea and good book and just enjoy.

Sunrise on the Beach

Some days are just magical in their beginning...

And then of course the finish of the day is always almost as magical as well...

November Morning

Good Morning, first day of the month and the sunrise was lovely.
So I thought I'd share a few pictures of this morning's walk.

Sunrise through the Sea Oats

The little creek up the beach, always changing.

This weathered stump, bravely hanging on.

The other day, these shapes were totally exposed and today they've got a covering of sand.
